Dr. Bowman was a distinguished professor of French Literature at The University of Pennsylvania for over 30 years. He is survived by a cousin and many close friends. A memorial service will be held December 11, 2006 at 7 pm at St. Clement's Episcopal Church in Philadelphia. Interment at St. Clement's. Reception to follow service.
