Born outside Pittsburgh, PA on February 7, 1924, he earned a purple heart during the invasion of Italy in World War II. Allen was a longtime staff member at the Museum of Modern Art and he lived more than fifty years in downtown New York City. Faithful forever and big hearted, he will be missed by his many friends.
